We also offer a Re-glazing and Mount Cutting Service and we have a stock of pre-cut mounts in standard sizes in store.
There are also choices to be made when it comes to glazing your frame and again we can advise on the best option for you and your budget.
We stock four main glazing options at Witzend :
We can also supply UV control and water white glass.
The top and bottom images here show the impact of the conservation glass with the middle image showing non-reflective.
Another purpose for mounts maybe to hold an array of different photos or other objects in place. A frame of family snapshots look great against the plain black with crisp white edges of the precision hand cut mount. A perfect example of how framing a collection of images together can work out much more cost effective than framing separately.
The purpose of a mount in framing artwork is to push the frame away from the image and so invite the viewer into it. If a mount is too narrow, it is likely to make the whole framed piece look 'fussy' around the edges and so create a distraction.
We stock a range of whites, off whites, creams and black mount boards .... All acid-free and conservation quality of course, but we can also supply a vast range of coloured mounts to suit your taste. We stock the extra thick conservation museum board too for that extra touch of elegance which goes particularly well with our 'Prestige Range' of frames.
